COVID-19 has presented us with the opportunity to re-think how we will offer some of our future programming and we are excited to bring VIRTUAL MUSIC, THEATRE, AND FUN INTO YOUR HOME!

Our popular reCREATIONal Musical Theatre and Dance programs will be offering four (4) consecutive, weekly VIRTUAL classes from June 2nd to 25th! Join your favourite Yellow Door teachers for group classes in musical theatre and dance! Stay connected with old friends and meet new friends.

Registration for Virtual Classes is now open!

Check out our complete offerings and register for classes on our online portal.

There's more! We are also busy planning on how to safely reopen the studio when the Town and Province permit. More virtual class offerings, smaller in-person class sizes and consideration for how to accommodate social distancing are all things we are working on. Please watch for more up-dates right here on our website in the near future!

Rotary Club of NOTL
Cheque Presentation

At their meeting on Tuesday, members of the Rotary Club of Niagara-on-the-Lake were treated to a special performance by Yellow Door Theatre Project youth and teen company members.

The Rotary Club recently confirmed its sponsorship of the Dress Rehearsals for the 2019 Yellow Door fall productions of Going Under (teen company) and Bremen Rock City (youth company) being presented at the First Ontario Performing Arts Centre in December. To show their appreciation, 5 young performers who receive training at Yellow Door provided a singing showcase under the tutelage of Artistic Director, Andorlie Hillstrom.

“The Niagara on the Lake Rotary Club was blown away by the level of talent on display. You could see the confidence emanating from these talented kids because of the opportunities given to them by Yellow Door Theatre Project. We are proud to be supporting such a wonderful charitable organization.”

   Paul Lalonde

Rotary Club Member

Said Yellow Door Artistic Director, Andorlie Hillstrom, “Yellow Door Theatre Project is so grateful for the support and generosity of organizations like the Rotary Club! This will help us move forward with plans for our Fall Productions.”

The celebration was capped off with an official cheque presentation for $2,000.00.

Our Recreational Musical Theatre & Dance Program continues into 2020!

We are excited to announce that we will be continuing to offer classes as part of our Recreational Musical Theatre (ages 3-14) and Introductory Jazz, Tap and Ballet Dance (ages 12-18) program throughout 2020!

These weekly musical theatre and dance classes will provide an introduction to the world of musical theatre!

Children registered in the Musical Theatre classes will begin to explore singing, dancing and acting to excerpts from age appropriate musicals. Our professional and experienced instructors will support the children through the creative process and develop their confidence and connection to one another.

Youth registered in Dance classes will work to improve technique, stamina, and flexibility. Emphasis is on Musical Theatre dance vocabulary. These classes will teach the basic dance skills necessary for musical theatre auditions for community theatre, professional theatre and college auditions.

Separate Spring, Fall and Winter sessions are available for each class.

“I am excited to finally be able to offer musical theatre programming on a year round basis. The demand for this type of program is growing steadily in the Niagara Region!”

Andorlie Hillstrom, Artistic Director

In-Person Registration is scheduled for August 26th, from 5 PM to 8 PM at the Yellow Door rehearsal space located at 504, Line 2, Virgil. Additional information (including registration information) is available on the Recreational Musical Theatre Program page.
