As a Niagara-grown theatre project, our passion is to create an experience for life through theatre and production, providing life perspective and a genuine commitment to growing and developing the children and youth of Niagara.
Announcing Our 2020 Season
It's a new year and we have some fantastic programming lined up for 2020!
First off, our Recreational Musical Theatre Program will continue to offer classes for children ages 3-18, providing exciting opportunities to learn musical theatre, tap dance, jazz and ballet. You can find out more about these classes on our Recreational Musical Theatre Program page.
Our popular musical theatre summer camp returns once again this year, and will again be offered for two, two-week sessions (July 6-18 and August 3-15). We are very excited about the camp this year as we are presenting Disney’s "The Little Mermaid”. Visit our camp page for more details.
Our highly anticipated Winter Production, typically held each December at the FirstOntario Performing Arts Centre, is still under consideration. Please watch this site for further details.
We really look forward to another wonderful year of exciting musical theatre and providing children with experiences that will last a lifetime!
Rotary Club of NOTL
At their meeting on Tuesday, members of the Rotary Club of Niagara-on-the-Lake were treated to a special performance by Yellow Door Theatre Project youth and teen company members.
The Rotary Club recently confirmed its sponsorship of the Dress Rehearsals for the 2019 Yellow Door fall productions of Going Under (teen company) and Bremen Rock City (youth company) being presented at the First Ontario Performing Arts Centre in December. To show their appreciation, 5 young performers who receive training at Yellow Door provided a singing showcase under the tutelage of Artistic Director, Andorlie Hillstrom.
“The Niagara on the Lake Rotary Club was blown away by the level of talent on display. You could see the confidence emanating from these talented kids because of the opportunities given to them by Yellow Door Theatre Project. We are proud to be supporting such a wonderful charitable organization.”

Said Yellow Door Artistic Director, Andorlie Hillstrom, “Yellow Door Theatre Project is so grateful for the support and generosity of organizations like the Rotary Club! This will help us move forward with plans for our Fall Productions.”
The celebration was capped off with an official cheque presentation for $2,000.00.

Our Recreational Musical Theatre & Dance Program continues into 2020!
We are excited to announce that we will be continuing to offer classes as part of our Recreational Musical Theatre (ages 3-14) and Introductory Jazz, Tap and Ballet Dance (ages 12-18) program throughout 2020!
These weekly musical theatre and dance classes will provide an introduction to the world of musical theatre!
Children registered in the Musical Theatre classes will begin to explore singing, dancing and acting to excerpts from age appropriate musicals. Our professional and experienced instructors will support the children through the creative process and develop their confidence and connection to one another.
Youth registered in Dance classes will work to improve technique, stamina, and flexibility. Emphasis is on Musical Theatre dance vocabulary. These classes will teach the basic dance skills necessary for musical theatre auditions for community theatre, professional theatre and college auditions.
Separate Spring, Fall and Winter sessions are available for each class.
“I am excited to finally be able to offer musical theatre programming on a year round basis. The demand for this type of program is growing steadily in the Niagara Region!”
Andorlie Hillstrom, Artistic Director
In-Person Registration is scheduled for August 26th, from 5 PM to 8 PM at the Yellow Door rehearsal space located at 504, Line 2, Virgil. Additional information (including registration information) is available on the Recreational Musical Theatre Program page.
